They are also founders of the North American Center For Emergency Communications (NACEC)
which they formed in 1993. The non-profit organization was developed to provide radio communications and
computer software support to disaster recovery organizations during large scale disasters.
Edward has enjoyed electronics and communications since he was a teenager. He is a U.S. Army Signal Corps
veteran, where he specialized in high-powered tactical radio communications. Following his honorable
discharge he continued his education, majoring in electronics with a minor in computer science. He met his
wife Becky while attending the university. She was majoring in accounting.
Edward worked for many years in electronics-engineering, then accepted a post secondary teaching position
at the Minnesota School of Business. During his tenure as an electronics and communications
instructor, he helped form a student radio communications club. Becky returned to school and
attended Minnesota School of Business to further advanced her education in accounting and data processing.
 Edward left his
teaching position and accepted a position at the National Science Foundation's Amundsun-Scott
South Pole Station, Antarctica where he served as a commercial radio operator and communications systems technician.
In 1986, after Edward's return from the Antarctic, they formed Northwest Antenna & Communications,
which they owned and operated in the Twin Cities until 1999. They than moved to Aurora in Northeastern Minnesota's
forest and lakes region to have more time to fish, snowmobile and enjoying the great outdoors.
In 2001 Becky and Edward returned to college to refresh their computer programming skills, achieving high honors almost every semester. After
school they started their programming and website design and maintenance company "Northern Visual Services", which was a great success. The
company was sold to one of our employees in 2008.
